Balogun Gambari Microfinance Bank Limited was established and promoted by Gambari, Ibagun and Zango Ward 1 in order to cater for the banking needs of the community and its environs. The Bank then was established and incorporated under the Company and Allied Matters Act 1990 as a Limited Liability Company and commenced banking operations on the 28th of June, 1994 at her registered office located at 1 Ojagboro Junction, Balogun Gambari Road, Ilorin. Following the successful recapitalization exercise in 2008, the Bank’s name was changed from Community Bank to Balogun Gambari Microfinance Bank and located at the same registered address after meeting the statutorily required capital base. The Bank was saddled with the responsibility of providing banking services to the people of the immediate community and its environs and promoting savings Habits of the active poor, most of whom the conventional banks could not serve. Balogun Gambari Microfinance Bank also focuses on Small and Medium Scale Enterprises, Traders, Farmers, the underserved and those with a flair for true high returns on investments. We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Cash Officer / Fund Transfer Officer Location: Ilorin, Kwara Employment Type: Full-time Job Purpose To effectively manage the Cash department and ensure controls of the Bank’s local and foreign cash and draft instruments are consistently adhered to. Duties and responsibilities Compiles and reconciles data involving the electronic transfer of funds to maintain accounting records: Examines electronic funds transaction entries on documents, such as bank statements and printouts, for completeness and accuracy. Posts transaction data to specified accounts. Manages both internal and external transfers for bank customers. Handles inward and outward clearing instruments. Ensure customers' check requests are promptly processed Directs cash management operations to include daily cash administration and bank relations. Reviews and drives cash management; ensuring that the bank’s financial obligations are met Timely reconciles cash applications and disbursements. Monitors cash transactions to ensure that bank account balances and any unusual transactions are investigated. Forecasts, monitors and tracks cash flow (weekly, monthly, quarterly etc.). Prepares cash flow reports, and identifies and evaluates variances. Works with Financial controller to accurately forecast cash flows Responsible for evacuation of cash in compliance with vault and insurance limits. Petty Cash handling and reconciliation. Manage and maintain cash limits at the bank and ensure prompt expatriation of excesses Plan and coordinated delivery and collection of cash to and from corresponding banks Qualifications Candidates should possess an HND / B.Sc in Accounting, Finance or relevant field Evidence of completion / exemption of/from NYSC Experience: Minimum of 4 years of banking experience. Previous experience in a similar role or capacity Good communication and interpersonal skills Skills: Knowledge of all regulatory policies and procedures Ability to recognize problems and apply Risk Management techniques to address them Strong planning, organizational and time management abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
