Assistant Mechanical Plant Technician (Position1)

We are recruiting a suitable candidate to join our team in the position below:

Job Title: Assistant Mechanical Plant Technician

Location: Ewekoro, Ogun
Function: Contract Delivery
Job Category: Engineering

Main Responsibilities

Responsible for economical and safe maintenance of the plant during the designated shift. To comply with all safety regulations including isolation, lock out and tag out.
Responsible for maintaining the machines and auxiliary equipment in good conditions of cleanliness, take the necessary steps for the prevention and correction of the found abnormalities.
Reconditioning of engine components, overhaul of engine components
Participate in all major overhauls of engine components and auxiliaries
Be able to isolate and prepare for the stopping and starting of engines, be able to resolve possible flaws that occurs during the starting and stopping.
Carry out corrective inspections of all mechanical, pneumatic and electrical equipment and supervision of the engines.
Reset alarmed equipment on plant panels, be able to identify the alarms which occurred in the electric panels and equipment protection and to correct all abnormalities that occur in this equipment.
Be able to assemble and disassemble completely and clean internal components of the lubricating oil and heavy oil separators, be able to identify abnormalities that occur in these referred separators, presenting probable solutions.
Be able to identify and locate all existing sensors and transmitters of pressure and temperature of the engines and their auxiliary equipment, knowing how to test them and to substitute them if necessary.
Be able to identify and correct abnormalities that occur to the excitation systems of the engines as well as the test the protection and supervision equipment of these excitation systems.
Maintenance of machine tools, fixtures, cutting tools and hand tools.
Sub assembly work
Reporting of the work
To clean and keep the working area in good order
Proposals for spare parts order stock, stock keeping and inventory making, arranging of arriving goods
All other tasks as assigned by Line Manager.
Requirements

Ordinary National Diploma (OND) /Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering Discipline.
Experience: Relevant experience in power plant operations and Maintenance required.

Main Responsibilities

Perform (storekeeping) tasks in accordance with the instructions.
Ensure the completeness and quality of the defined routines of own daily work.
Ensure that the work is executed according to Wartsila Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
Cooperate and interact with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure all store keeping activities are done in line with requirements.
To comply with the management system accordingly to what has been implemented locally for her/his position
Perform all activities needed to reach the objectives of the position and comply with the orders, instructions, values and company policies applicable as employee and/or the position.
Maintain the records of forwarding, transportation, warehouse and materials management.
Keep MAXIMO data updated at all times for site and customer stocks.
Perform proper stock taking of all spare parts, sundry and all other items in the store.
Keep proper tool inventory and give reports as required
1Support the store keeper in all activities assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Social Sciences discipline.
Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience.

Main Responsibilities

Maintain the plant according to company policies, procedures, and operation profile/plan.
Identify and locate all existing sensors and transmitters of engines and auxiliary equipment as well as test and substitute them if necessary.
Carry out inspections of all electrical equipment and take corrective actions when needed.
Comply with all safety regulations (including isolation, lock out and tag out) and perform emergency procedures to protect personnel and equipment in case of damage or failure of safety devices.
Assist Maintenance Supervisor as required.
Carry out planned preventive maintenance as detailed in the manuals.
Ensure that the working area, machines, auxiliary equipment, and tools are kept in good and clean condition.
Identify and correct abnormalities of the engine excitation systems as well as test the protection and supervision equipment of the systems.
Create work reports according to guidelines.
Perform all assigned maintenance related tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements

HND / B.Eng / B.Sc. / B. Tech in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent Engineering background.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant industrial experience in O&M experience requirement in HFO power plant and its auxiliaries.
Proven Working experience on Wartsila W50 DF Engines is an added advantage
Proven working experience in a power plant is an added advantage
Working experience with international companies (such as oil & gas and Power plants) being highly focused on the implementation and respect of QHSE procedure is an added advantage.
Perform all activities needed to reach the objectives of the position and comply with the orders, instructions, values, and company policies applicable as employee and/or the position.
Continuously seek for solutions keeping a customer focus mindset.
We are seeking for an expert professional with strong problem solving and decision-making skill.
