About the Role

We are looking for a Sales and Distribution Director who will be responsible for developing key growth sales strategies, tactics, and action plans in the country of engagement. Successful execution of these strategies is required to achieve BURN’s financial objectives.
The selected candidates will mainly be tasked with hitting in-country annual sales targets, building high-performance teams, and establishing and maintaining excellent customer relationships.
The ability to identify and target suitable primary users of our Kuniokoa (Woodstoves) products and have a clear understanding of our customer needs will be a critical factor in the selection process.
The successful candidate for each location will be required to meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives in the assigned market.
We are looking to fill the above roles with candidates who have solid experience in managing large teams preferably with previous last-mile distribution experience. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and driven with the passion to excel within the social impact/enterprise industry.
The successful candidate should ideally have prior experience directing and managing large teams of commission Sales Agents. 
Duties and Responsibilities

Managing, coaching, and training high-performance teams to own, hit & exceed annual sales targets within the assigned territory.
Formulating and executing the strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our in-country customer base.
Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
Building a high-performance sales team
Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets within the designated territory
Coordinating with relevant stakeholders to promote BURN’s objectives  
Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives and contribute towards innovation and problem solving
Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals, presentations, and in-field engagements.
Understand category-specific landscapes and trends
Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of the woodstoves business
Skills and Experience

A University Degree preferably B.Com / M.Com from a recognized University.
Minimum of 5 years experience as Head of Sales or Director of Sales with a proven & verifiable track record within a busy business environment.
Relevant experience within the startup space.
Ability to communicate, present, and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level.
Proven ability to formulate & drive the sales process from plan to close
Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of BURN’s products.
Proven ability to position BURN’s products against competitors
Excellent and demonstrable analytical skills.
Demonstrable experience developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions.
Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Previous experience within the Carbon industry will be an added advantage.

About the Role

The overall role of a Carbon Technical Officer is to make sure BURN generates its carbon credits on time, on the scope, and on budget by ensuring all carbon reports are prepared and submitted on time, and within the standard Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities

First level Draft and review of all carbon reports and submit them on time to the Carbon Technical manager as per the annual calendar prepared by the Carbon Technical Manager
Prepare a Project Level annual Gantt chart that is a more detailed version and at the project level clearly showing what happens when and by whom. They will be responsible to ensure all tasks are done on time and within the correct scope.
First Level Draft of clear Standard Operating Procedures and Quality control and Quality Assurance plans and strategies for All reporting and technical aspects of carbon processes, to be implemented by the Project Management teams and all support departments in BURN (Commercial Team, Business Intelligence department, Carbon Project Management team, and Carbon Technical Officers)
First Level Review, and draft where required, all Carbon reports and support documents – e.g., but not limited to VPA DD, Monitoring reports, Local Stakeholder consultation reports, and all related Support documents, and submit them to the Carbon Consultant on time and in scope
Responsible for drafting and preparing robust operating procedures and systems to ensure all carbon reports and their supporting documents are saved on BURN’s SharePoint and uploaded on the Sustaincert app on time and in the correct level of quality
Run all Training and capacity building to ensure compliance with carbon standard requirements from BURN, and make sure the carbon project Management team is following the requirements of the standards based on the SOPs developed
Provide First level responses to all reviews from BURN to either VVBs and/or the Standards in each stage of Project reviews e.g., but not limited to Preliminary review in GS or Listing in VERRA.
First level preparation of all Ex-ante and Ex-post ER calculations for BURN cookstove projects, including ensuring all Projects hit the maximum ER generation per stove possible
Provide weekly updates (or any frequency set by the Carbon technical Manager) on the status of the Projects – quality, risk assessment, reporting – in a clear concise manner
Lead and coordinate all reviews from BURN to either VVBs and/or the Standards in each stage of Project reviews e.g., Preliminary review in GS or Listing in VERRA. The Carbon Technical Manager ensures that all feedback is provided on time and in scope in conjunction with the Carbon Consultant
First Level drafting, refining, and updating of all BURN Carbon data collection questionnaires in line with the standard requirements and in a way to maximize opportunities for Carbon Credit Generation
Identify and Manage the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats that face BURN’s projects from Standards or Markets where BURN operates and come up with strategic plans to de-risk any aspects that would affect the issuance of credits on time, on the scope, and budget
Manage, coordinate, and take lead in any Design changes to existing POAs
Manage Ad hoc communications with Standards (e.g., VERRA/GS) for topics such as but not limited to technical changes to methodology rules, deviation requests, clarification requests, and relationship building with the standards (e.g. finance, technical reviewers, etc.) VBS as needed
Carrying out specific one-off special carbon assignments falling outside the scope of existing JD
Keep up to date on all Standard (GS/VERRA/CDM, etc) updates and always make sure BURN is ahead of any strategic and required changes in how projects are run

About the Role

Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) in climate change mitigation actions are the collection of processes, activities, and tools used for measurement and characterizing project performance in terms of environmental and social benefits, such as GHG emissions reduction and SDG goals achievement. They form the foundation by which carbon markets operate. 
Our approach is to leverage on technology and human capital for field data collection and measurement approaches at the household level, to acquire the data necessary to accurately calculate GHG emission reduction from this data based on accepted methodologies.
The ideal candidate would have a proven track record of setting and delivering on goals for high-fidelity data from the field. 
We’re looking for someone that finds fulfillment and enjoyment in joining a winning team of MRV executors. Someone who pushes forward initiatives by asking great questions, cutting through ambiguity, and organizing to win. 
The person would need to be relentlessly detail-oriented, methodical in their approach to understanding trade-offs, place the highest emphasis on progress, and progress quickly while working in a highly functioning team.
Duties and Responsibilities

Defining needs for reporting and nurturing the culture of performance to set the bar for speed and quality.
Operationalizing MRV field teams to run 3 to 5 different types of heavy data collection projects within the 1st year with higher growth thereafter.
Work closely with the Head of MRV/Country Reps to mobilize & track roll out of effective MRV teams within the country, timelines, cost & quality expectations
Develop country-customized training materials for MRV-focused studies enumerators borrowing from the master training document under the supervision of the FS project manager.
Inject fresh ideas on the effective execution of carbon-related MRV activities across the board within the country from feasibility studies to verification
Maintain a highly optimized & strategic calendar to achieve maximum results with optimal resources.
Defining goals and metrics for research areas and running effective operational reviews with leadership.
Ownership over in-country MRV metrics for communicating progress against goals. Identifying if extra roles are needed to support you (e.g. data analyst to deploy KPI dashboards if needed)
Defining the project plan with the support of internal business processes by which work gets done on the MRV teams
Recruit, train and supervise an in-country, location-efficient team of contractor field team leaders and/or enumerators that can execute household-level feasibility studies.
Initiate and follow through in the mobilization of budgets and other resources for efficient and timely execution of feasibility studies.
Working closely with the Head of MRV and other critical internal stakeholders, develop sops and checklists for maintaining the highest quality processes for efficient output from data and related units.
Continuously review and audit the processes and surveys necessary to complete MRV studies projects in time both quantitatively and qualitatively.
Ensure data and documentation are compliant with laid down SOPs and methodologies
Collaborate and liaise closely and regularly with the relevant team members across the critical departments including but not limited to data and analytics, call centers, carbon, and commercial.
Manage routine corrections of erroneous output and work to continuously improve this environment by harvesting and documenting lessons towards continuous improvement.
Creating comprehensive monthly reports on the Pareto of issues, including root causes, examples, trends, and options for solutions.

This specialist should also have effective communication skills to interact with team members or customers, as well as provide training as needed to colleagues.
Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in field team leadership and management in areas like data collection or sales.
