Job Title: Flight Operator

Location: Yenagoa,  Bayelsa

About You and the Role

As a member of Zipline’s Flight Operations team in Bayelsa State, Nigeria, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the delivery of medical products to health facilities is done in a safe and timely manner.
This will involve working with a team of flight operators to conduct regular pre-flight inspections, launching, and recovery of the drones (aircraft).
You’ll be trained to conduct regular maintenance of the drones and other equipment at our site to support ongoing operations.
You will be expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of our daily operations and processes to support the growth of our operations as we scale.

What You'll Do

Launch and Recovery: You will be responsible for the safe assembly of drones in preparation for 150+ flights, perform critical checks, communicate with Zipline controllers in readiness for flight, launch and disassemble drones on return to the Distribution Center.
Maintenance of drones and ground equipment: You will be responsible for performing corrective and preventive maintenance: scheduled or unscheduled on Zipline’s Aircraft and Ground Equipment. The maintenance includes but is not limited to Aircraft body maintenance, aircraft wing maintenance, etc.
Troubleshooting: You will be required to follow troubleshooting guidelines for the drones and ground equipment and collaborate with locally-based and USA-based engineering teams to troubleshoot and optimize issues.
Projects: You may be involved in short-term and long-term projects that involve collaboration across functional teams in efforts to scale drone deliveries to 150+ and improve operational efficiency.

National Diploma or HND / Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Aerospace Engineering
You enjoy working in the field and are not afraid to get your hands dirty
Ability to stay focused, humble, and safety-conscious during 12 hour shifts
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and enjoy work that keeps you on your feet
Ability to maintain focus during extended daily flight operations
Comfortable troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues with complex, battery-operated machinery
Extremely process & detail-oriented
Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English
Must be eligible to work in Nigeria.

We are looking for a Government Affairs Manager to support our government affairs activities in Nigeria.
You’ll have the opportunity to support regulatory approval processes for cutting edge technology in new markets throughout Nigeria, as well as work with a broad range of government stakeholders – from security agencies and the CAA to utilities regulators.

What You'll Do  

Partner closely with the Zipline Nigeria team and the Nigerian government to support the day to day of Zipline’s various regulatory requirements and programs in Nigeria.
Work with the global regulatory and policy teams to define the best plan to execute timely and successful certification.
Support organizational regulatory approval efforts by coordinating activities of the team, monitoring progress and removing obstacles along the way.
Maintain regulatory files/databases in good order, along with the system for tracking communication with regulators. 
Interface with other functional departments to influence efficient execution of projects; provide regulatory support on project teams.
What You'll Bring 

You’ll have at least 5 years' experience in working within the regulatory and government affairs space
You can communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) and build strong relationships with internal business teams and external stakeholders.
You’ll have experience reviewing processes and documentation to ensure that the systems they depict will be compliant with applicable regulations.
You have the grit, resourcefulness, and resilience to thrive in novel, uncertain and constantly-changing business and regulatory environments.

What You'll Do

Own all day-to-day accounting operations including: billing, cash collection, vendor payment, bank and credit card reconciliation, cash reconciliation, mobile money reconciliation, review of employee expense reimbursement and more. 
Coordination and preparation of financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Statement of cash flows
Own month end closing for their respective countries and establish key processes to ensure financials accurately reflect business activity 
Partner regularly with various teams, including General Manager, Country Leadership, and Global Finance Team, to support data driven decision-making
Support in the design and implementation of controls, processes, and policies
Support in tax, audit, and other compliance activities

About you and the Role  

Zipline is building a global network of Distribution Centers from which our battery-powered autonomous aircraft deliver lifesaving medical supplies to patients in some of the most difficult to reach places on Earth. 
As we build new Distribution Centers, we must also build strong teams of flight operators and arm them with the knowledge and skills to keep those high-tech systems operational in harsh, remote environments. 
As an Electrical Training Instructor (ETI), you will be responsible for conducting and updating our training program for all of the Nest Electrical Technicians. 
As an ETI you will deliver the training and ensure the transfer of skills needed to perform the installation and maintenance on our systems will be done safely and to our high Zipline standards.
Through this process you will work closely with engineers, manufacturing technicians, and flight operators to gain a deep technical understanding of Zipline’s technology, the current procedures, as well as the pain points and gaps. 
You’ll then need to draw on industry best practices and come up with creative new solutions that fit Zipline’s unique needs but allow our team to remain safe and operating at peak efficiency.  
You must be resourceful and scrappy when needed, but always maintain an exceptional standard of safety, care and professionalism in the training you deliver.

What You'll Do  

Become an expert on key systems, techniques, and processes, such as: equipment and systems at a Zipline Distribution Center, existing installation processes, and troubleshooting/maintenance best practices
Build and continuously update training curriculum to reflect Zipline’s latest Electrical systems and operating procedures 
Support the Academy team to build new training curriculum & conduct trainings across a variety of technical fields
Train and certify Nest Electrical Technicians (NET) on the correct installation and maintenance of Zipline equipment 
Ensure every NET can independently troubleshoot any equipment issues quickly and safely
Support the team to launch a new Distribution Center, specifically focused on the electrical installation of technical equipment 
Support the team in responding to and/or fixing any technical issue that arises at a Distribution Center
What You'll Bring

5-10 years of experience in the electrical field 
Certification from a recognized organization is preferred but not required
Ability to conduct engaging classroom and hands-on technical training sessions
Demonstrated ability to build and implement technical training curriculum
Capable of performing installation, maintenance and troubleshooting on industrial electrical equipment in a safe, detailed and professional manner
Adept at communicating and working with non-native English speakers
Able to travel 50% of the time
